How many thoughts a day do you think we actually have?
Well, studies show we have about 70,000 thoughts a day. That’s interesting, but what is even more interesting is, is what percentages of those thoughts are negative. Any guesses? They say that about 80 – 87 per cent of our thoughts are negative. Wow! Surprisingly, they go undetected by the conscious mind.
What this means is, we think these 70,000 thoughts a day, and more than 80 per cent of them are negative, and we are not even aware of it.
We all know negative thoughts create negative outcomes. Positive thoughts create positive outcomes. You can never, ever, get a positive outcome from a negative thought. So if you want to improve your life with better results, better relationships, better physical health, better success or better spirituality, whatever it may be, we need to have more positive thoughts. We will not be able to get positive outcomes without having more positive thoughts.
In the Silva Method we have a very simple technique that we teach on the first day of the course. It’s called the ‘Cancel Cancel’ technique.
If we catch ourselves saying a negative statement, we know with awareness, that we have obviously thought this negative thought prior. By the time you verbalise it, you have already thought that thought several times, because your words are a symbolic representation of your thoughts. If we catch ourselves saying it out loud, or saying it in our head, say ‘Cancel Cancel’ and overwrite it with a positive affirmation.
Slowly over time, you will create more and more positive thoughts and because positive thoughts give positive outcomes, your life, as a result, gets better and better over time.
This may sound so simple; however, this has got to be the most underestimated technique ever, because everything begins with a thought. Thought precedes manifestation. Let me say that again: thought precedes manifestation.
In the Silva Method we learn to develop a stronger awareness of our thoughts and to consciously overwrite negative ones with positive affirmations. It is highly effective. This is just one tool in the Silva Method toolbox that we can use to intentionally improve our lives.
I encourage you to practise this in your life. Remember, a positive thought is better for you, and it is a hundred times more powerful than a negative one. Stay aware and if you recognise a negative thought, remember to use ‘Cancel Cancel’ and you must, must, overwrite it with a positive affirmation so that you can build that new neuro-pathway and slowly erase the old negative one.
So my friends, I hope that has been helpful and added value to you. Otherwise have a wonderful day and God bless.
